Design Concept
Matsu(Pine trees) thrive in lush green abundance along the seashore, standing as familiar guardians that protect our daily lives from salty sea winds. Enduring harsh winds and snow while remaining evergreen throughout the year, pine has long been cherished in Japan as an auspicious symbol of longevity and eternal youth.
Expressions such as “white sand and green pines” and “pine, bamboo, and plum” reflect how indispensable pine is to the Japanese sense of beauty. Capturing its timeless vitality and resilience, this piece is crafted with a pine-needle motif that embodies beauty strong enough to withstand even the harshest environments.
